Voter Registration Deadlines:
Online: Oct 19, 2020
In-person: Nov 3, 2020
Registration by mail must be postmarked no later than Oct 19, 2020
Early Voting Period:
You may vote early by going in-person to your county elections office, or by using the vote-by-mail system.
Voter Eligibility:
To vote in the state of California, you must be:
- A United States citizen
- A resident of California
- At least 18 years old, or will be by the next election
- Not in prison or on parole for a convicted felony
- Not have been judged by a court to be mentally incompetent to register and vote
Note: You may pre-register to vote at the age of 16. Your registration will automatically become active once you turn 18.
You will need to re-register to vote when you move, change your name, or change your political affiliation.
